Here is how the procedure for Duct Cleaning is done by us:

There are several ways to clean an HVAC system. We utilize “Source Removal,” the mechanical cleaning of system components to remove dirt and debris. We follow all guidelines set forth by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) as published in the Assessment, Cleaning & Restoration of HVAC systems

The technicians will utilize our High Powered Vacuums (either from the truck, or brought directly into the furnace room) and hook up to the main duct work to put the system under a negative pressure. We will use tarps to cover the flooring to protect against any possible damage or mess.

If no access holes are made from an existing job, a new access will be made to allow for hook-up of the vacuum hose into the duct work in the basement. Most companies charge extra, but this is part of the cleaning service standards. There is no extra charge for this and MUST be done.

Once all vents are cleaned thoroughly, the technician will then use special agitation devices in the main supply and return duct work in the basement and then use an air brush to push all dust and debris to the vacuum

 The technician will inspect the system before completing any work to ensure the removal of all dust and contaminants.

Make sure the company inspects the duct work and doesn't just tell you its clean. Seeing is believing.

All access holes will be sealed air tight using a 10"x10" sheet metal and will be duct taped to provide an air tight seal for the duct work. 1" black plugs will be used to seal the access holes made throughout the duct work in the basement for the air lines to be inserted.
